LFP (Link Fault Pass-Through LFPT) Function |
| |
| |
CASE 1 : If the UTP ethernet link fails or becomes down, then this failure information is transmitted to the other side (fiber optical port) of the media converter forcing that port to stop functioning, and sending a LFP signal to the the partner media converter. Later the partner also stops its ports. This is a perfecet feature that prevents partners to stay linked unncessarily, in an occasion of failure. |
| |
| |
| |
| |
CASE 2 : If the optical link fails or becomes down, then the LFP forces both partners, on which LFP is enabled, to stop UTP ports together. |
